Window Screens and Mesh

Mesh for UPVC doors and windows can be provided with the in-built mesh provision available with 2.5 track or by using a 3 track sliding frame.

  •  2.5 track:  Two tracks are similar with a width of 12-13 mm for the glass panels (sashes) and a smaller track with a width of 7 mm.  There is a need to use a separate Screen sash profile for fabricating the Mesh screen.
  • 3 track:  All the three tracks are similar with a width of 12-13 mm.  Out of 3 tracks, two tracks are used for glass panels and one sash (similar to the glass panel) is used for the mesh.
The mesh can be fixed to the Screen sash frame as per customer requirements

For Casement systems in UPVC, there is no in-built provision for mesh fixing, and a Grill and Mesh frame need to be used.  The frame is compatible with two glass panels (mostly outward opening) and there is a provision in the frame for fixing the grill in between the glass panels and the mesh panel.  Mesh panel is a different profile which can be fixed to the frame using Butt Hinges and it can have a multi-point locking arrangement using a Single plate espagnolette of 22 mm backset.

There are different options for the types of mesh to be used on window insect screens:

  • Nylon mesh
  • Fibreglass mesh
  • Aluminium wire mesh
  • SS304 wire mesh (natural colour and black epoxy coated)

The mesh as per customer requirement can be fixed to the Screen sash frame. OBEN offers Nylon mesh and SS304 wire mesh in black epoxy-coated finish for insect screens.

OBEN also offers a horizontal Pleated mesh system which can be fixed on a UPVC Casement window or door. It is an “add-on” system with Polypropylene mesh.
